29 октября волонтеры студенческого PR – агентства Юридического института посетили музейный комплекс ТГТУ им. В.И. Вернадского, где узнали историю университета от директора музея и телестудии ТГТУ «Альма Матер» Владимира Николаевича Геращенко.

В 2020 году Тамбовский государственный технический университет празднует два важных события: свое 62-летие со дня основания филиала Московского института химического машиностроения и 55 лет со дня приобретения статуса самостоятельного высшего учебного заведения.

Университет начинает свою историю в 1958 году как филиал Московского института химического машиностроения (МИХМ), который возглавил Федор Семенович Полянский. С 1965 года университет преобразовался в Тамбовский институт химического машиностроения (ТИХМ). В 1993 году он стал с гордостью называться Тамбовским государственным техническим университетом (ТГТУ).

Современная выставка музейного комплекса ТГТУ им. В.И. Вернадского размещается в двух залах. Здесь можно увидеть всё, что связано с историей университета от механической печатной машинки, телеграфа, профсоюзных и комсомольских билетов студентов тех времен до компьютеров разного поколения и прототипа современного ноутбука. Помимо экспонатов, представленных на стендах и в выставочных витринах музейного комплекса можно встретить подлинные фотографии, уникальные книги, документы, сувениры, медали, которые отражают сферы деятельности вуза в исторические периоды развития университета. Всего в фонде музея хранятся более 5,5 тысяч экспонатов.

Ежегодно музейный комплекс им. В.И. Вернадского посещают несколько сотен студентов и гостей университета.
